The Metro New York Health Care for All Campaign and Rescue Health Care Day-New York City invite you to: Join in "RESCUE HEALTH CARE DAY": A National Day of Action in Communities Across the U.S. (modeled on "Earth Day") RALLY AGAINST HEALTH CARE PROFITEERS AND FOR HEALTH CARE FOR ALL! SAT. APRIL 1st, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Washington Square Park in Manhattan (Take the A, B, C, D, E, F, or Q trains to W. 4th St.) Rain location: Washington Square United Methodist Church, 135 W. 4th St. At 12 noon we're going to "blow the whistle" on private, profit-driven health care! (FREE whistles provided!) * Health care is a fundamental human right. Our present profit-driven health care system robs us of that right. It fails consumers and health care practitioners. * We are health care and mental health consumers, practitioners, workers, and community advocates who are joining together to send a strong and insistent message that our health care system must be fixed, and that it is up to our elected leaders to do it *NOW!* * Our health care system must be reformed to guarantee universal, comprehensive, affordable, quality health care which is publicly accountable and respectful of the patient-practitioner relationship. * This year, we are electing a new President, U.S. Senator, Congress, and State Legislature. *NOW* is the time to raise a loud voice for quality health care for all! Rally speakers will include consumers, health care providers, elected officials, religious and labor leaders, and special guests.
